The Law Firm of Alexander & Cleaver was founded in 1985 by the two principals, Gary R. Alexander and James A. Cleaver. Mr. Alexander has been practicing law for over 30 years and Mr. Cleaver for over 20 years. The firm has offices in Fort Washington, Annapolis, Cumberland and Waldorf, Maryland as well as an office in Alexandria, Virginia. Mr. Alexander ~ Mr. Alexander is senior partner and founder of The Law Offices of Alexander & Cleaver. He is a member of the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia Bar Associations and is a member of all Federal and state area trial and appellate courts and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Alexander received his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1964. He completed his legal education at George Washington University National Law School where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1967. He has practiced law in the Washington, D.C.- Baltimore metropolitan area since 1967, and has served on numerous national, state, and local bar association committees.

Mr. Cleaver ~ Mr. Cleaver is a principal in The Law Offices of Alexander & Cleaver. He is a member of all area trial and appellate courts and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Cleaver received his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1973. He completed his legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law where he received a Juris Doctor degree in 1978. Mr. Cleaver is a member of the Prince George's County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Association of Maryland Trial Lawyers, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is former Co-Chairman of the Prince George's County Public Works Oversight Task Force and a former member of the Advisory Committee for Paralegal Studies at Prince George's County Community College.
